Join me in my efforts to support two local outreach and prevention programs!
Thank you for walking with us again this year.
We walk because we would rather do something than do nothing.
Aaron's death could have paralyzed us as victims or mobilized us as advocates. We believe it's more productive for us to be advocates.
We walk because Aaron can't.
We walk because we think it's important to raise awareness about suicide prevention and postvention so that others will know about these programs BEFORE they need them. We had no idea about the many programs that are in place for suicide prevention, intervention, or postvention prior to the death of our son. We hope that by walking and talking about these important programs, there is more awareness and less shame and stigma.
We walk because it's the least we can do to honor Aaron's memory and the way he lived his life.
We walk because it's helpful to be surrounded by people who understand our pain and want to prevent others from feeling it too.
We walk because this new community to which we belong is vast and growing.
We walk because we believe that by shining a light on mental illness and suicide, fewer people will hide in the shadows and will instead step forward to seek and accept help.
When you participate in the Save A Life San Diego Community Walk, your tax-deductible contribution supports the special partnership between San Diego Chapter of Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention ProgramŽ and Survivors of Suicide Loss-San Diego by strengthening our suicide outreach and prevention programs and survivor support services for all San Diegans. You are also helping to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and suicide.
