Ryan Patrick Burger 1/31/85-1/13/15

On January 13th, 2015 I lost my son Ryan to suicide. Ryan was two weeks shy of his 30th birthday and is missed every day by those who knew and loved him. Ryan was generous and caring with an amazing sense of humor. As a Paramedic in San Diego for 5 years and then a first responder/Paramedic for Austin Travis County EMS he dedicated his life to helping others. November 13th marks 22 months since we said goodbye, it is also the annual Save A Life Walk at Balboa Park. This community event raises awareness to suicide through outreach and prevention while creating a community for those left behind through support groups. Ryan saved many lives as a Paramedic and through this event he can continue helping others. My goal is to increase awareness/prevention through fundraising and to get people talking about the frequently taboo subject of suicide. Please forward this post to as many people as possible. This is an amazing cause and one that is so close to my and my family's hearts. Please come out and join us on Sunday, November 13th or if at all possible, pledge a donation. Follow the link to access the Save a Life page to register to walk or donate. Go Team Ryan!
